Spiritual Leadership: At the End of Life

As the end of life draws near, I wonder what we will consider? What questions will we have?

I wonder what regrets there will be?
I wonder about the missed opportunities?
About the half finished assignments?
Of would've, should've, could've thoughts?

I wonder what hard questions we will have?
What painful answers may emerge?

Will we wonder - where did the time go?
How fast did it fly and was then gone?

I wonder how much life will we have missed?
How much love neglected?
How much forgiveness withheld?
How much good left incomplete?

Spiritual leadership lives today, this day and every day with THAT DAY in mind.

Spiritual leadership lives today, this day and every day knowing that time is short and the days are full of struggle.

Spiritual leadership lives today, this day and every day knowing there is a time of reckoning, accountability and the reward of "well done good and faithful servant..."

Spiritual leadership lives today, this day and every day knowing that what we do and don't do - matters. It matters a very great deal.

Therefore, with this profound self-awareness, spiritual leadership lives today, this day and every day in a way that is highly intentional, wisely strategic and deeply surrendered.
