Life Long Learning - Note 01

One of the core values that has always shaped my life is that of life long learning. Even when I didn't know of this phrase, I was in a learning mode. I love to learn. Learner, ideation and intellection are two of my Strengths-Finders strengths

I won’t comment on any of those quotes. I share them so you see a little bit of my own motivation for being a life long learner.

Leadership ConneXtions is a collaborative movement of leaders resourcing other leaders. The leaders who are a part of LCI are not only organizational leaders, we are mentors, teachers, trainers and consultants. We desire to equip others. We are committed to strategic developmental relationships.

Bobby Clinton defines mentoring as a relational process of transferring resources from one person who has them to another person who needs them. These resources come in a wide variety: skills, models, methodologies, insights, best practices, theories, encouragement, relational support and much more.

When a leader or mentor (or trainer, teacher, consultant, coach) continues to study, learn, grow and develop they have a growing collection of resources to offer to others.

Life long learning is how you will accumulate the resources you personally need so you can have the optimum results you desire. It is also the way you gain the resources you need to help others.
 

This series of posts will have 4 objectives.

First - to continually motivate you to be a life long learning. My goal is to motivate and inspire you so you make it a priority to learn, grow and develop to your fullest extent.

Second - to give you some of the best insights about how you can be a Peak Learner. That is the language used by Ronald Gross who has written many books on learning.

Three - to inform you about the available resources to help you in your learning.

Four - to give you the encouragement you need on this journey.

If you have been reading this blog, you have already been exposed to this core value of life long learning. I have written posts on this theme often. While they will continue to be occasional (and every now and then I may have several close together) I am going to be more intentional and systematic about what I provide for life long learning.

On the RESOURCES page there is a sub-page called Life Long Learning where I will keep a running table of contents and links to you can access these posts at any time.
